ALTERNATIVE ROAD LIGHTING EQUIPMENT PERMITTED. Sec. (e) The operator of an explosive cargo vehicle may not display as a warning device a flare, fusee, or signal produced by flame. Sec. FOG LAMPS PERMITTED. (b) Except as expressly authorized by law, a person may not operate or move equipment or a vehicle, other than a police vehicle, with a lamp or device that displays a red light visible from directly in front of the center of the equipment or vehicle. 309, Sec. PROVISIONS RELATING TO BRAKE REQUIREMENTS ON VEHICLES. 1, eff. (a) A vehicle shall display each lighted lamp and illuminating device required by this chapter to be on the vehicle: (2) when light is insufficient or atmospheric conditions are unfavorable so that a person or vehicle on the highway is not clearly discernible at a distance of 1,000 feet ahead. (b) A passenger car This subsection does not apply to an operation in which a motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer is transported as a commodity when at least one set of the vehicle's wheels is on the roadway. Sept. 1, 1995. (g) A taillamp, including a separate lamp used to illuminate a rear license plate, must emit a light when a headlamp or auxiliary driving lamp is lighted. (b) A motor vehicle or motor vehicle engine, of a model year after 1967, shall be equipped to prevent the discharge of crankcase emissions into the ambient atmosphere. (c) A court may dismiss a charge brought under this section if the defendant: (1) remedies the defect before the defendant's first court appearance; and. (d) The department may determine that a window that has a sunscreening device is exempt under Subsection (b)(2) if the light transmission or luminous reflectance varies by no more than three percent from the standard established in that subsection. Otherwise, the 1,000 feet rule applies when (2) if there is no standard of the United States for the same aspect of vehicle equipment performance as the department standard, conform as closely as possible to a relevant standard of the United States, similar standards established by other states, and a standard issued or endorsed by recognized national standard-setting organizations or agencies. 1, eff.
